PhoLicious Packaging RebrandA study on packaging systems, this is my take on a refresh on PhoLicious’s ramen bowl brand design.
The BriefAs an assignment in the creation of packaging design, we were tasked in the creation of a packaging series of three different types of products as a cohesive system. As a response, I chose PhoLicious (fuh licious), a lesser know brand sold in stores near me that needed a refresh to hold a significant place on the shelf.
Using the proper print production guidelines taught in the class, I was able to make packaging that can exist in the real world. I also took it a step further by developing a new logo for the company that better fit with the redesign and gave it more personality.

ProcessThe greatest difficulty in this project was surmounting the fact that well-established brands like Maruchan and Nissin hold the market in terms of stereotypical ramen packaging, and a brand like Buldak holds the place of pop design. I thus decided to bridge the gap between the two pulls in these concepts while creating something uniquely PhoLicious’s own.
Creating the packaging took a few iterations to perfect, but the end result ended up utilizing bright colors that follow the philosophy of warm colors stimulating appetite while also using color as an indication of flavor. The result was bold and fun packaging that I enjoyed making.
